The love for Stan & Ollie does not know borders. They have friends in the whole world. Already in the 30's there, initiated by the European distributor MGM, was a Stan & Olli club in France.
The"Sons of the Desert" does not understand itself necessarily as fan club. They see their task in preserve the films of Stan & Ollie, to inform about them and to spread the interest in the two comedians. The organization is in fact none. They understand themselves as parody on associations and don’t take themselves serious. Developed the "desert sons" in the 60's, based from some friends in the USA, of which one had, i.e. John McCabe contact to Stan Laurel.
Whether he would endorse a club, Stan insisted that it was not allowed to have a serious affair, but that the fun would have to be the center of attention. He wrote a merry statute to the club, in which the reputation of Laurel & Hardy is the highest requirement. The name "Sons of the Desert" is derived from the film of the same name. The first meeting of the "Sons" was at the 14.Mai 1965. Today there are more than two hundred clubs in the world.

For more than 20 years the TWO TARS TENT, the first German chapter of the International club SONS OF THE DESERT exists. We offer newsletters and other publications, among them once a year the extensive TWO TARS JOURNAL, club meetings with film show and entrance to all Events by the “Sons” like Tent meetings worldwide, and the conventions in Europe and USA.

Also we can offer always new articles such as books, DVDs and more for sale. Briefly said, you are served best around Stan & Olli with us, we are approximately no typical association in the best way but a loose combination of the friends of that incredible pair of comedians Laurel & Hardy are.
